From the mid
1950's FFA and 4-H projects to our present
operation, quality has always been plan one. Our
simplified goal continues - - "Breeding attractive,
profitable cattle others desire to own." The
original Top Acres was founded in New Jersey and
moved to the current location near St. Paris, Ohio
in 1974. The breeding herd began and continues today
with a strong emphasis on the highest level type as well as
production. Developing long lasting reliable maternal lines
has enabled us to consistently breed and market the
kind both we and our customers prefer. Side by side showring competition has given us the opportunity to
successfully showcase results of our program and
progress. Top Acres has had 112 All Americans and
over 100 Reserves - the all-time leader for Brown
Swiss. |

The center of
our current home operation features a Donor Herd of
proven brood cows involved with an ongoing extensive
ET program. We market frozen embryos, both
domestically and internationally, as well as
producing deep pedigreed show type young cattle.
Several young animals offered during the last two
years have seen strong demand in public sales
and there are more to come. We continue to offer an
outstanding selection of young bulls produced by our
ET program.
We are honored
that many of our cattle offered during recent
downsizings have received great homes and thus have
been given the opportunities to excel. The Premier
Breeder awards at Madison the last two years were
based entirely on cattle exhibited by their new
owners, including several winners. Nothing could
make us more proud than a big smile from a happy
buyer holding a blue ribbon. |

During 1970,
we became involved marketing cattle for fellow
breeders as well as ourselves. In the last 35 years,
we have conducted auctions in 25 states and sold
cattle into 44 states as well as numerous foreign
countries. From the beginning, our practical farm
and dairy knowledge provided clients with the
"hands-on" experience they needed. We have had the
good fortune of selling the two highest Brown Swiss
sales ever conducted as well as the highest females
sold in every category.
Modern
Associates conducts four annual sales along with
timely feature sales and a varying number of herd
dispersals. We also broker an increasing quantity of
quality commercial cattle and replacements for new
