Mike and Linda Hellenbrand hosted the 2nd Edition of this unique sale on a brisk fall day following their Friday evening October Fest at City Slickers Farm. The quality offering again included Brown Swiss, Jerseys, Guernseys, Milking Shorthorns, along with Red and Whites. The bulk of the sale entries were from the City Slickers ET program with some additional high caliber consignments from friends and business associates. The 121 head sold into 16 states from California to Rhode Island as well as Ontario and British Columbia, Canada and Mexico.

High seller for the day was a Brown Swiss, Brothers Three HP Willow ET, taken by Ken Main and Peter Vail of Copake, NY at $18,100. for their Elite Dairy show string. Mike and Linda Hellenbrand along with Brothers Three consigned this Madison winning Premium daughter from the 2X All American, Brothers Three Wisper. Contenders on the knockout spring calf were Rob and Pat Donaldson of Bradner Farms, Abbotsford, BC, Canada.

A Polled *RC Durham September calf from the 8th generation “Ex” Golden Oaks Perk Rae-Red-ET was second high seller at $16,200. and went via the phone thru the sales management to Venture Genetics, Millbrook, Ontario, Canada adding to their elite group of polled genetics. This calf was offered by the sale hosts, Mike and Linda Hellenbrand.

Third in line on the selling list and high Guernsey was Pine Drive Aarons Dazzle "VG88" who sold complete with embryo contracts. She was the consignment of Brandon Grewe, Cumberland, WI. The buyer at $15,000. was Lauren Woloojosian, West Greenwich, RI  who also purchased the second high Guernsey, Four Winds Tiller Dame, at $10,500. Dame was 4th Junior Two Year Old at the recent World Dairy Expo and was consigned by Clark and Joy Vilter, Hartland, WI.

Topping the special quality Jersey portion of the sale, Unique Jacinto Bebe ET is a Jacinto from the highest LPI cow in Canada and out of the Belle family. She sold for $10,500. to David Allen, Reedsburg, WI and was provided by Hillpoint Partners and Unique Stock Farms from Wisconsin and Alberta.

The top selling Milking Shorthorn at $6,600. was Spungold-R Logic Precious ET, a Logic daughter from the 2x All American and World Milk Champion Gold Mine Poppys OT Kay “2E95”. Consigned by Mike Hellenbrand and Vince Ruzic, she is now owned by Spencer Weimer, Emlenton, PA.

The Fall for Colors ET Sale II was again managed by Modern Associates, St. Paris, OH.  The ambitious sale crew included Darrell Worden as auctioneer and Wayne E. Sliker on the pedigrees assisted by Seth Johnson with the Guernseys and Vince Ruzic with the Milking Shorthorns. A wide variety of talent worked the ring and the telephones including Brian Garrison, Keith Fisher, Lee Barber, Kristin Paul, Ron Mosser, Dan Bauer, Dale Chupp and Stanley Chupp. Orion Cattle Services and their crew provided expert cattle preparation for the event.

Mike Hellenbrand announced plans are under way for number III.
