The 71st Eastern Breeders' Sale was again held at the Cobleskill Fairgrounds, Cobleskill, NY on a pleasant fall day, October 20, 2007. The longest running sale series of the breed attracted the largest crowd ever. The 73 head included several young project calves and averaged $2718.00 Topping the day at $7,000 was Top Acres M PT Glory ET, selling as a bred heifer and taken by Elite Dairy, Ken Main and Peter Vail, Copake, NY. Consigned by Jeff Wolfe of New Oxford, PA, Glory is sired by Bridge View Primetime and from Bo Joy Ensign Gredel "4E94". Second on the high seller list, Top Acres Wonder Fortune ET is a Top Acres C Wonderment ET from the "5E93" All American Nominee, Top Acres Emory Falicia. This fancy open heifer was purchased by Allard's Farm, Hadley, MA and consigned by Kevin Sliker, DeGraff, OH. Garbro Swiss, West Salem, OH provided the next high seller, an Ensign bred heifer form the All American We Gotta Improver Frannie. Garbro Ensign Friendly ET commanded $6500 and was purchased by Jack Durbin, Leitchfield, KY. The sale was again managed by Modern Associates, St. Paris, Ohio with Wayne E. Sliker handling the pedigrees from the box. Dave Bush was the auctioneer assisted in the ring by Gordon DeMay and Richard Stephens. Connie Sliker and Kathy DeMay clerked the event. New York Brown Swiss Juniors assisted with leadsmen responsibilities along with Jennifer Mills and Shawn Mills. Jerry Harkness, Gordon DeMay, Brian Garrison and Curtis Prime assisted the sales management with selections from 10 states.
