Hard Core Ace Roxy-EXP was the high seller at $12,000! |
The Bedford County Fairgrounds, Bedford, Pennsylvania was the place to be for top notch Milking Shorthorns on June 5, 2010. The Mark and Keith Fisher Families of New Enterprise hosted The Hard Core Selection Sale with the bulk of the cattle selling from their herd along with additional consignments from cooperating breeders. The sale started off with the unique offering of buyer’s choice from any animal in the catalog. The bidding rose to $12,000 for the privilege to select from the outstanding line-up that included two All Americans and several nominees from 2009, all with full production and type pedigrees. Springville Farm, Emory, Texas placed the winning bid and picked Lot 1 - Hard Core Ace Roxy-EXP “E92/93MS”. Roxy is a two time All-American as well as a two time Reserve All-American sired by Hilltop Academy. She is due to calve again in July and promises to be back in the competition. Her dam, Rubens Roxy, is one of the breed’s highest classified at “E96/2E” with production records up to 30,356m. Hard Core Rebel Rockette-ET, an exceptional junior two year old sired by Pinehurst Rebel 9th shows much promise and created loads of action as she sold for $9,100 to Cora Bloo, Cory, Indiana. In addition to her blue ribbon possibilities, Rockette comes from one of the special Hard Core cow families featuring 3 generations of "Excellent" All-American Nominated dams including Royce “E95/3E”. Next in line on the high seller list at $8,000 and also the high selling heifer, Sunshine Moneys Daisy is a third generation All-American Nominee purchased by William Bartlett, Salisbury, Massachusetts. Daisy’s dam, Sunshine Frolic Dorothy “94/2E/95MS”, was also the dam of the high selling bull at $6,000. Sunshine Logic Dudley sold last in the sale and is as fancy as they come. After spirited bidding, he went home with John and Marjorie Kuszlyk of Batavia, New York. The Keith and Mark Fisher Families graciously hosted presale activities at Hard Core Farm the afternoon prior to the sale as well as a hog roast and refreshments following the sale at the fairgrounds on Saturday. The high quality event was well attended by Milking Shorthorn enthusiasts and guests of other breed affiliations from at least 15 states. Modern Associates managed the sale with Matt Lawrence handling auctioneer duties and Wayne Sliker providing pedigree information and updates from the box. The sales staff included Brian Garrison, Lewis Arthur, George Halpin, Ted Smart, Tim Nix, Mike Halpin, Michael Heath, Dave Kendall, Connie Sliker and Deb Hoffman.
